Well I went to Crown King instead of the river bottom. It was nice and cool it is so beautiful up there. I drove past Crown King to Horsethief Lake it’s about 8 miles further. Then on the way back I stopped in Crown King and ate lunch at the restaurant. I left around 9:00am and got home at 6:30pm. I had a great time. There are some really nice camping areas up there. We need to schedule a group ride sometime soon before it gets to cold. I’m posting a few pictures I took along the way. You must login to view the pictures.

Nice pics! If you went in the back way, how was the road conditions? If there is a group ride, we want to go.

I went in off I-17 at the bumblebee exit… I did go the back way from Lake Pleasant a couple months ago and that was a pretty rough road. It took me about 4 hours to get to Crown King. Then on the way back I picked up a nail in my rear tire. I couldn’t believe out in the middle of nowhere I had to find what was probably the only nail on the whole trail. But it was sure a fun ride…

We would like to find a way from Table Mesa or New River road to Crown King. Might make it a longer ride but our top speed is 60mph and the freeway is 75mph.. Has anyone heard of a route? Front way or back way?

Sorry Was late to base camp, arrived at 8:30 but rode up anyway on a trx400es.the ride was challenging and got a flat on the way up.slim and little copressor fixed that.then broke rear disk but still had fronts.Met some good people in Crown King.rode back down with some (go figure)a/c guys and had good fellowship with them and they said they would try to go back to thier churchs on a regular basis.Looking around they said that all this could not be an accident, yet someone or something has to be the ultimate artist. All in all a great time. would like to ride sandrail when the clutch is fixed.Lets talk Glamus sometime!Traveling Mercies.Freon.
