Hello, my name is Steve and I`ve been searching for a christian off-roading group in the Phx area for some time now. I am looking foward to enjoying God`s creation with fellow christians. God has blessed me with a passion for off-roading, a wonderful godly wife and two wonderful children and many other things im not worthy of!
May God pour his blessings on this site as a place for christians to fellowship if it pleases Him _________________ Saved by Grace

Steve,
Sounds like you know how to count your blessings! Welcome to the forum. Now I'm not the new guy here! Where do you like to ride? I've been out of off roading for 8 years so lots of places I used to go are gone. Hope to try the back way to Crown King after it cools off a bit.
In Christ,
John in N Phoenix :)

I`ve only lived in the Phx area for about 3 yrs and havent ridden any of the local areas here other than the south end of the white tanks (bout a mile from home) and the Hassayampa river bottom. I usally try to make a couple of trips a winter to the sand dunes. We (family) also enjoy watching off-road races.
Where at in the valley is crown king located? _________________ Saved by Grace

There is a very good description of it on this site at:
http://www.got-god.org/viewforum.php?f=5
under Crown King
There is a lot of old mines and a military outpost along the back way to Crown King. After a long day of exploring dirt trails, we being street legal, would take the main road out to create a loop ride back to Phoenix down I-17. My RZR will not do 75mph, so if we go now, it would have to be an out and back for safety reasons.
Crown King:
Closest pine trees to Phoenix
The southern tip of the Rocky Mountains
Great close place to beat the Phoenix heat.
Lots of places to explore, old mines, an indian observation post and ranger lookout tower (both have cool views of Lake Pleasant) and a small lake behind an earthen dam.
Just writing about it makes me want to go!
God made all things good, I think He spent extra time on this location!
John

Your comment on Snowflake brought back a fun old memory. I got to ride co-pilot in a class 1 car at the Snowflake buggy bash a very long time ago. What a fun SCARY ride!!!
Unfortunately, after my ride in a real race rail, I promptly went out in our rail to Bloody Basin and broke the front end completely OFF! I had the race fever but not the race car.
Hard to believe, but it is possible to tie-strap the front end back on. It was only by the grace of God that I survived the drive back down the I-17 to get home! Yes, He has more plans for me, I look forward to meeting y'all on the trail soon.
Thanks for letting me share a memory!
John
